Hannah Johns
Hello! I’m Hannah.
I live in Gippsland, Victoria, with my husband and two boys, though I am originally from Perth, Western Australia.
My passion for movement and exercise has always been a source of joy for me. This led me to train as a Pilates instructor, where I’m dedicated to helping others discover the benefits of low-impact exercise. I hope to inform women of the importance of staying active during pregnancy and teach them optimal positioning techniques for labour.
I believe that Australia's birthing system needs reform, as it often overlooks the mother's experience of birth and labor. Through my research during my pregnancies, I found that hospital settings generally had a higher rate of interventions. As a result, I chose to give birth to both of my boys at home with the support of a private midwife.
I am qualified as a Birth and Postpartum Doula by the Australian Doula College. I believe that Doulas offer crucial support and information during pregnancy and birth, empowering women and potentially reducing the need for interventions. My goal is to assist women through this transformative period in their lives and contribute to more positive birth outcomes for both women and their partners.
